To Configure the List of Cross Reference Types

A cross reference is a secondary identifying number, such as a barcode, that can be associated with objects like documents, physical items, and virtual items.

You must define the list of cross reference types, before users can add a cross reference number to an object.

  1. Open the System Admin tab (View > System Administration).
  2. Set the default scope.
  3. Click the Maintain List Values icon .
  4. Select Cross Reference Type.

The Cross Reference Type tab opens in the Content pane.

  5. To add a new cross reference type, go to the next available row and do the following:
    1. Click in the Description field and enter the name of the cross reference type.
    2. Click the Save icon at the end of the row.
Tip: If you are adding or modifying multiple cross reference types, you can save each row individually, or you can save all your changes at once using the Save icon in the main toolbar. You can also delete a cross reference type by clicking the Delete icon at the end of the row for that type.
